Ezekiel Elliott is the king of the crop.
The athlete expressed his bold style in a midriff-baring top when he hit the red carpet for NFL Draft announcements Thursday in Chicago.
The stylish sky-blue suede footwear features navy-blue piping and tassels, available for $350 on the brand’s website.
Color-coordinated in blue and white Dallas Cowboys colors from head to toe, Elliott’s custom suit was designed by Pantheon Limited. The label’s founder Ethan Weisman tells FN that the attention-grabbing design was a collaborative effort.
“We were passing along ideas on how to ‘wow’ people and we started joking around about just wearing a crop top undershirt,” Weisman explains. “I knew we had to have him entering the league with a statement.”
Of course, Twitter reacted to his ensemble en masse, and a new meme was born.
In photo illustrations published on the social-networking platform, the 20-year-old’s cropped button-down shirt was altered to include an image of Michael Jordan’s face, and CBS Sports superimposed a tiny Cowboys jersey on Elliott’s body.
Ahead of the draft day, Elliott signed an endorsement deal with Nike. The label tweeted support for its new ambassador, writing, “A complete package. Impossible to wrap. The Ezekiel Elliott @dallascowboys Nike NFL Jersey.”
